Letters Patent in respect of the Torch Theatre, Capel Street, Dublin, 26 February 1937. This document grants Miss Jennifer Maude Elinor Davidson permission to organise the performance of plays and dramatic representations at the theatre. It outlines in detail the terms and conditions which apply to the patent, for example, 'all such interludes and performances shall be in every respect decent and becoming and not profane, blasphemous, indecent, obscene, seditious or otherwise obnoxious ... the trustees and the tenant and their or her executors, administrators and assigns shall reject out of the said Company all scandalous, disorderly or other persons ... no indecency of dress, dance or gesture to be permitted on stage'. |

This Commission investigated the feasibility of selling to the occupying tenants, property which was made available under the Labourers (Ireland) Acts.
