Saorstat Éireann, Conditions of Employment Bill, 1935. The Bill makes 'further and better provision for regulating and controlling the conditions of employment of workers engaged in industrial work, and to make provision for diverse matters connected with this area'. Part II of the Bill deals with conditions as to piece work and the employment of certain classes of people. Section 12 deals with restrictions on employment of female workers, 'The Minister may in respect of any form of industrial work, after consultation with persons who are in his opinion representative of employers or workers, by order make regulations prohibiting the employment of any female worker to do such form of industrial work'. Shift working, overtime, minimum age for young persons, public holidays and a limitation of hours of work are amongst the other matters dealt with by the Bill.
