Copy minute to the Secretary of the Executive Council from the Secretary, Department of Justice, 30 May 1929, stating that the offices of Sinn Fein at 27 Dawson Street [Dublin] were searched on 23 May. Amongst other documents found there was a copy of a letter from Father Fahy written while in Galway prison to an unnamed friend, who is now identified as Mary MacSwiney.

Notes of remarks made at some meeting of Sinn Fein [found during the search of the Offices at 27 Dawson Street]. The notes are rough and in places the meaning is not fully clear, for example, Mrs Skeffington `Concentrate on Madame McBride. Hogan and Healy. Hogan in solitary confinement for 2 yrs. Developed T.B. Con Healy the victim of continued persecution. The State want to have further victims. Appeal to the young men to be steady and disciplined not to allow themselves to be driven into rash action'.

Memorandum circulated by the Department of Justice, 26 March 1929, relating to the Juries Protection Bill, 1929, and methods for the protection of jurors, for example, `Loitering in the neighbourhood of Courts should undoubtedly be made an offence. This would enable us to deal appropriately with Mrs. Gonne McBride and other harpies of that ilk'.
