Minutes of an interdepartmental meeting, 6 April 1962, concerning the report of the Scandinavian Design Group on design in Ireland. Miss V O'Sullivan, Bord Fáilte, was amongst those in attendance. 'Mr Cahill repeated his suggestion that the meeting should recommend the establishment of a Working Committee to advise the Government on the whole matter including the question of the establishment of the Institute proposed in the Scandinavian Report'.

Newsclipping from the 'Irish Press', 25 July 1962, containing an article entitled '500 Delegates of Irish Congress of Trade Unions meet in Galway: Earning powers to go up'. The article refers to the annual delegate conference of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions. Dame Anne Godwin, Chairman, General Council, British TUC, was present at the conference. The article also states that Miss Kathleen Nolan, Women Worker's Union, Dublin; Miss Dorothy Boyle, Clerical Worker's Union, Belfast and Miss Sheila Dowling, Post Office Worker's Union, Dublin were also in attendance.

Newsclipping from the 'Irish Press', 19 January 1962, containing an article entitled 'Irish freedom from hunger drive opened'. The article refers to the launch of the Irish 'Freedom from Hunger' campaign which was organised by the Food and Agricultural Organisation [FAO] and held under the auspices of the Irish Red Cross Society. 'The aim of the campaign was not just to dole out food to the hungry but to teach those who were hungry to produce sufficient food for themselves'. Leslie Bean Tomas de Barra, Chairman, Irish Red Cross Society, also spoke at the launch. 'She announced that the Red Cross would hold a national public collection for the campaign on June 3 next'.
