Hand-written letter from Mrs Anne Marie Kehoe, Bavaria, Germany, to Mrs Cosgrave, 16 May 1931, requesting assistance for her husband who has been out of work for several years. She outlines the family circumstances in detail. 'I am the wife of an Irishman and the mother of six small children from 8 months to 11 years of age. My husband Michael Patrick Boyle Kehoe ... 5 and half million Germans are out of work and owing to the terrible unemployment in Germany my husband has been unemployed for past 2 years and our family, 8 in number, has merely existed'. Her husband's services to the cause of Irish freedom are outlined in great detail. |
