Note from Cashell, Department of the Taoiseach, to Mr Stokes, 23 February 1967, complaining about the tone of a communication which was sent to him by Miss Gannon. 'I explained to her that the questionnaire related to the type of work and not to actual cases and that there would not be any breach of confidence. My recollection of the discussion was that it was amicably conducted. I am, frankly, dismayed at the tone of Miss Gannon's minute'.

In a small Department where consultation is so easy, it is unnecessary'.
