Newsclipping from the 'Irish Times', 3 June 1964, containing an article entitled 'Irish matrimonial laws and the marital status: recognition of foreign divorces'. The article refers at length to the recognition of foreign divorces in Ireland. The writer refers to several incidences of foreign divorces and the manner in which the courts ruled upon them. 'In the case of a divorce validly obtained outside Ireland, such divorce would be afforded on recognition in Ireland as the Constitution prohibits the contracting of a second marriage in Ireland even though the party has obtained a divorce elsewhere'. |

Hand-written letter from Eilis Bean Ui Sheoighe, Malahide, County Dublin, to Mr Lynch, 8 January 1968, on the subject of divorce legislation.
