Typescript report of the inquiries that were made by the Military relating to missing officers [Lieutenant RA Hendy, Lieutenant GRA Dove and Pte Brookes Lieutenant KL Henderson] at Macroom, submitted with covering letter to Michael Collins, 8 July 1922,, in an attempt to bring the perpetrators to justice. The report details information obtained from people in the area as to the information of the officers on the day prior to their kidnapping, a number of women appear as informants. For example, 28 April 1922, no 11 `The shop assistant at Lissardagh previously referred to in para. 1, was again visited but now denied having heard anything of the missing party. She was extremely nervous and it was evident that the rebels had been warning her against giving information'. |
