Newsclipping from the `Kerryman', 1 February 1958, `The Floods, Filth Ruined Property and Endangered Health of Tralee'. The article deals with flooding in Tralee the previous Saturday. Details of damage to property is listed. For example, `Mrs. B. Corbett, owner of an auction mart at 9, The Square, had a harassing experience. Valuable furniture, and carpets in particular, on display on the ground floor were destroyed'. Mrs Corbett called on the people to organise and to withhold their rates until the Council takes action to prevent such catastrophes.

Notes relating to a Labour Party Motion on the provision of employment for adult citizens, 25 November 1942. Appendix 1, for example, gives details of the travel permits issued in 1942 to men and women seeking employment. For example, 3,558 women from Counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, Clare, Galway and Kerry were issued permits. Appendix 9A gives details of the cost of providing full time employment for all adult workers on the Live Register. For instance to given employment to 5,000 women at £1.8.0 for one week would cost £7,000.

Letter to Mr Moynihan from Nellie Leader, `old Republican', Cork, 3 July 1940. She asks him to place before the President an appeal on behalf of Tomas MacCurtain. `He has committed an act that deserves the punishment, but we must not forget that we all at one time applauded the shooting of the R.I.C. when all other means failed. She asks for his reprieve for the sake of his son Brian, for the sake of Harry Boland, for the sake of her native Kerry men, killed at the Countesses Bridge and of her brother-in-law and five others executed after the Dripsey ambush and `more than all for the sake of mercy which the English did not show us'.
