Five women are included on the list. 'Dublin North Central, Maureen O'Carroll; Dublin South Central, Celia Lynch; South Kerry, Honor Mary Crowley; North Tipperary, Mary Bridget Ryan; Sligo-Leitrim, Mary Reynolds'. The session also debated the nomination of Taoiseach. Mr Lemass, Minister for Industry and Commerce, nominated Eamon de Valera, and Risteard Ua Maolchatha nominated John A Costello. A debate took place as to the merits of both candidates. JA Costello was elected by seventy-nine votes to sixty-six. Maureen O'Carroll and Mary Reynolds voted in favour of John A Costello. Honor M Crowley, Celia Lynch and Mary B Ryan voted against his nomination.
